The Cost Sharing section displays information about the cost share (non-sponsor contributions to a project) types, source, amounts and total associated with the award. Cost share is that portion of total project costs that are paid from sources other than the sponsor.

Column

Description

Type

Required.  The cost sharing type. Click the drop-down drop down menu to select from the type of cost sharing options:

  • From Another Funded Project
  • In-Kind Costs
  • Other
  • Subcontractor/Subrecipient
  • Third Party
  • Unrecovered F&A Costs
  • Mandatory-Specified Amount/Percent
  • Required – Non-Specified Amount/Percent
  • Tuition Waiver
  • Voluntary Commitment from Investigator

Source

Optional. The provider of the funding item. Enter the source of the cost share into the box.

Commitment Amount

Optional. The cost share amount committed for this item. Enter the amount for this cost share into the box.

  • The total of all commitment amounts in this section will be displayed in the Total row in the Commitment Amount column.

Cost Share Description

Required. Notes or other information about the cost share. Expand the text field for additional notes by clicking the note icon to open in another window. Enter comments into text box.

  • The information within this field will display on the Green Sheet. Text must always be entered in this field. If there is no cost share being provided, note that no cost share is being provided in the text box.

Add Commitment

Select the type of commitment from the drop-down drop down menu options. Enter text in the Source field to indicate the source of the commitment and the amount in the Commitment Amount field. Click the add add button to add the commitment as a numbered line item entry. The text entered into the Cost Share Description field will be displayed on the Green Sheet.
