Attach notes for a protocol in this subsection of the Notes & Attachments page. The note topic and note text are both required fields for each note added to the protocol. The system will automatically generate the Posted Timestamp and Author of each note upon adding the note to the protocol by clicking the add button button.

Notes Field Description
Author The full name of the person who entered the note is automatically displayed by the system and cannot be edited manually.
Note Text Required Field. Enter textual information about the attachment by clicking in the text box and entering text or clicking on the add note note icon icon to view/edit/paste text in a new browser window and clicking continue to add the text to the protocol.
Note Topic Required Field. Briefly define the nature of the note by clicking within the field and entering text.
Posted Timestamp The time and date the attachment was posted will be automatically generated by the system after clicking the add button button.
Restricted? This area indicates if the note is viewable or restricted to users with the right to view restricted notes. The note creator is always able to view the note even if not granted the right to view restricted notes. By default, this is unchecked. Click within the checkbox checkbox to select the item.  Click within it again to clear the mark and deselect the item.
  • ORIC staff and IRB reviewers are the only users who the authority to create and view restricted notes. Other users therefore will not be presented with a checkmark option in the Restricted? column.

Editing and Deleting Notes

After a note has been added and saved to a protocol, it can be edited by clicking on the add button button. Notes can also be deleted by clicking on the delete button button.
